Company Overview
Chimera Investment Corporation 8.875% Senior Notes due 2030
NYSE
Chimera Investment Corporation 8.875% Senior Notes due 2030 are senior unsecured debt securities issued by Chimera Investment Corporation, a real estate investment trust (REIT) specializing in mortgage assets. These notes are designed to provide fixed income, offering a stated annual interest rate of 8.875%, payable quarterly in cash on February 15, May 15, August 15, and November 15, beginning November 15, 2025. The notes mature on August 15, 2030, with the principal expected to be repaid at that time, unless redeemed earlier by the issuer. The notes are structured to rank senior to any future subordinated obligations of Chimera Investment Corporation, while being on equal footing with other existing and future unsecured debt that is not subordinated. They are, however, structurally junior to any liabilities and preferred equity of the company’s subsidiaries and any secured indebtedness to the extent of collateral value. Chimera retains the option to redeem these notes in whole or in part at par plus accrued interest on or after August 15, 2027. In the event of a defined change of control, holders may require the company to repurchase the notes at 101% of the principal plus interest. These notes play a key role in Chimera’s capital structure, supporting its activities in the residential and commercial mortgage sector, and providing investors with an income-oriented bond product.
